Smirnoff is pleased to announce DJ Tomi Garber as winner of its #SMIRNOFFX1FEMALEDJ Search.
The search, in concert, with International Women’s Day is part of the brand’s continued commitment to equalize music and encourage a new generation of female disc jockeys in Nigeria with a target to double headliner quota by 2020.
DJ Tomi Garber emerged winner from hundreds of entries on social media. Garber’s ‘big break’ is testament to what hard work and resilience can do in the career of an aspiring disc jockey.
DJ Garber started playing the night club circuit a few years ago before landing various appearances on notable radio stations including Pulse FM and Radio Continental. Her skills quickly earned her fans across the industry opening doors to short stints at local and international gigs.
Brand influencer, DJ Spinall announced Garber on social media after a poll; he added “DJ Garber is definitely one to look out for! With her passion for music, there is no doubt that she will be one of the hottest DJs out of Nigeria in the future...”
DJ Garber will perform alongside her idol, DJ Spinall at Smirnoff’s THE LAB event holding in New York City this April. She will also perform at 5 #Smirnoff House Parties across Nigeria. She will also get a MTV Base profiling feature courtesy of Smirnoff Vodka.
