Graduating students

Prof. Faraday Orumwense, Vice chancellor of the University of Benin (UNIBEN) has denied claims making the rounds that the school management has increased the tuition for students.

Orumwense made this known to the press during the 41st Convocation/45th Founder’s Day of the university.

He said, “There is nothing like increase in tuition fees in UNIBEN. What I think you are talking about is the N400 added to the National Health Insurance Scheme, NIHS, by the NUC which has nothing to do with the management of the university”

During the event, the VC also discloed that that the university would be conferring honorary degrees on the Inspector General of Police, Mr Solomon Arase and Prof. Osato Osagie.

Osagie was awarded this honor due to her achievement as of the foremost Consultant Gynaecologists and  one of the medical personnel that spear-headed the successful innovation of the first Nigerian test tube baby.
