The chairman of the Task Force, Alhaji Baba Abubakar Umar, told Daily Trust that only 1000 schools of the 2500 in existence have registered and complied with laid down guidelines.
Umar said the unregistered schools will be closed down because failing to register implies that they are operating illegally.
He said about 30 schools have already been shut down for a number of offences.
