El-Rufa’i made this known when officials of the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund) paid him a courtesy visit on Tuesday.

According to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), reports El-Rufa’i said the reason for suspending the second state university initiated by the immediate past Governor, Mukhtar Yero, was for lack of funds.

“The state government has no money to establish a new university; the previous administration which initiated the plan, did not make any provision for it in the 2015 budget,” he said.
