Deputy governor reiterates the administration's free education agenda

The deputy governor of Niger State, Alhaji Ahmed Mohammad Ketso, has said that the Abubakar Sani Bello administration will strengthen the free education programme in the state because it considers education as the fundamental right of every citizen of the state

The deputy governor of Niger State, Alhaji Ahmed Mohammad Ketso, has said that the Abubakar Sani Bello administration will strengthen the free education programme in the state because it considers education as the fundamental right of every citizen of the state.

He made this known at the the Speech and Prize Giving Day of Police Secondary School, Minna, over the weekend.

He said:

"Our administration places education on its priority list; we believe that education is not only a fundamental human right.

It is also a key for achieving sustainable development in all facets of human endeavours. We intend to strengthen the free education programme and continue to collaborate with the private sector for the development of our education system."

The Police Force Education Officer, Kabiru Ibrahim addressed the youth, "As youths, you have a duty to sustain the existence of our society by developing an attitude of positive thinking and acting positively at all times; with this, you will move the society forward as well as yourselves”.

He also reiterated that the Inspector General of Police is committed to the welfare of the staff, hence 1,948 workers were promoted last year.

The chairman of the PTA of the school, Zubair Abdulra’uf Idris, lamented that the school is facing some infrastructural challenges but commended the school authorities for instilling the right discipline and behaviour in the students.
