No old students should harbour newly admitted students in their hostels, aid them in payment of fees or provide accommodation for new students under any pretence. He said that security agents have been instructed to patrol both the campus and hostels situated in the adjoining communities to apprehend those violating this directive.

Professor Bandele warned that any defaulting EKSU student apprehended by security agents would be maximally punished under the extant rules and regulations of the University.

The VC also reminded the students of the penalty for participating in cult activities.

"Death sentence is the penalty for those found guilty of belonging to cultists’ groups in Ekiti State including Ekiti State University." The statement reads.

Reacting to the VC's directive, a graduate of the university said the warning is important because cult members take advantage of fresh students' naivety to introduce to cultism and other vices.
