The Dangote Foundation and Modibbo Adama University of Technology (MAUTECH), have donated relief materials to Internally Displaced Persons living in camps in Adamawa State on Sunday.
According to a Daily Trust report, the items were handed over to officials at the Damare and Malkohi IDP camps by the Vice Chancellor of MAUTECH, Professor Kyari Muhammad.
The donated items include 375 bags of rice, detergent and other foodstuff.
Muhammad said the university is concerned about IDPs who are not living in government funded camps.
"Our mission is to assist those internally displaced persons living with host communities who have not been receiving much from government designated camps in the state," he said.
One of the beneficiaries, Aliyu Ahmad, thanked the donors for the gesture.
"We appreciate the assistance and pray to God Almighty to reward the gesture abundantly with His blessings," he said.
It is believed that several hundreds of thousands of people in the North-East have been displaced by the Boko Haram insurgency.
