SUV with anti –Islamic message kills Muslim teenager in US
Ahmed H. Aden deliberately over a Muslim teenager with his SUV which has an anti-Muslim message written on it.
The SUV was driven by Ahmed H. Aden who has been arrested and charged with murder in a case that the FBI is currently investigating as a hate crime.
Ahmed H.Aden’s SUV which had an anti-Muslim message displayed in the rear window ran over the boy outside a Somali community centre. The victim, 15 year-old Abdisamad Sheikh-Hussein, died at a hospital on the evening of Thursday, December 4 after his legs were severed in the crash.
According to a report by , Kansas City police spokesman, Darin Snapp, revealed that the SUV had been seen in the area by patrol officers in late October with a message that compared the Quran to the Ebola virus.
According to reports, people say they sighted the SUV some weeks before the crash with threatening messages at the center and at a nearby shopping area. One of the messages was "Islam Is Worse Than Ebola," said Mohamed Ahmed, 13, of Kansas City.
According to reports, Sheikh-Hussein was on his way to play basketball when he was run down so violently that a witness said he saw the teenager "fly through the air" from the effect of the hit.
Documents of the incident which was made available for court said after knocking the teenager with the SUV, Aden got out of the vehicle with a knife. Witnesses told officers they followed Aden and pointed him out to police. One said the suspect swung what appeared to be a baseball bat at people, and another said Aden threatened them with a handgun as he tried to get away on foot.
He initially told authorities that he lost control of his vehicle and that there had been an accident. He later said he struck the teen because he thought the boy looked like someone who had threatened him several days earlier.
Muslim leaders have called for a thorough investigation into the death of Sheikh-Hussein as Aden has been being held in the Jackson County jail.
