Woman keeps hubby’s corpse for 6 months with hope of resurrection

Kaling Wald left her husband's decomposing corpse in their bedroom for six months because she had hoped for him to resurrect.

A Canadian woman, Kaling Wald, kept her husband’s rotting corpse in their bedroom for six months with the hope that he will resurrect.

Kaling Wald, a devoted Christian woman and her children kept the corpse locked up in the house as they prayed and hoped for him to resurrect.

According to CBC, Wald’s husband had died of Diabetes after he refused to seek treatment when his foot became infected, because he believed God would heal him. The Diabetes got worse and his condition deteriorated before he died in March, 2014.

Kaling Ward’s husband dead body was discovered when authorities arrived at their home to deal with the family’s loan situation as they have failed to meet up with payment for the house.  The corpse was found in the family house bedroom, covered in blankets.

Wald who was later arraigned in count, on Monday, December 4 pleaded guilty to “failing to notify authorities of his death from an illness he was not getting treatment for,” under the Coroner’s Act.

Superior Court Justice Marjoh Agro sentenced her to a 5-year suspended sentence and 18-month probation with counselling.

"Your belief that your husband would resurrect is not an issue," Agro told her Monday. "This is not about your religious beliefs. It is about your safety, the safety of your children and the safety of the community at large."
