It was the gathering of the mighty at the special church service organised to give thanks to God for the inauguration of the Governor of Abia state, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu.
Governor admonished to stand firm by clergy
The Bishop reminded the newly elected Governor, that the expectations of the people are high, adding that he could not afford to fail.
During the sermon, the Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria, and Bishop of Peculiar People’s Assembly, Bishop Goddy Okafor, called on the Governor to initiate policies that will benefit the people of the state.
Taking an example from the King in the bible that initiated changes in Judah-King Asa, the Bishop reminded the newly elected Governor, that the expectations of the people are high, adding that he could not afford to fail.
According to Bishop Okafor, “God has chosen you as an agent of positive change, and the people are looking up to you. It pleased God to pick you and you must not fail. If God be with you, you will succeed; it does not matter who is against you.”
In summary, the Bishop told Gov. Ikpeazu to hope for a better tomorrow.
