Edo Governor submits 2016 budget of N111.5b to legislators

Oshiomhole also added that he will pay more attention to construction and maintenance of road in 2016.

The Edo state Governor, Adams Oshiomhole has presented the budget for the year 2016, he tagged 'Budget of Finishing Well,' to the state House of Assembly.

Oshiomhole said “reduction is in line with the economic realities, especially developments in the international oil market and dwindling inflows from the Federation Account."

“This administration is working on the designs for the following seven gully erosion sites: Ibore, Ewu, Emu, Ogiso/Osunde, Ambrose Alli University (AAU) and Auchi Agenebode Road gully erosion sites.

“The designs of flood and erosion control structures for Gapiona/Adesuwa Grammar School Road to de-flood the Western part of the Benin GRA, covering about nine square kilometres, is at advanced stage. Also, designs for Urora community in Benin and Igbe Quarters in Auchi are being carried out," the Governor said.

The Herald Newspapers reports that the Education sector got N14b, which is the largest allocation, as well as the health sector that got the same amount also.

You will recall that Governor Oshiomhole promised to pay his staff salaries, despite the fact that most of his colleagues who are state Governors are suggesting a pay cut.
