The Inspector-General of Police (I-G), Mr Solomon Arase, has pledged to continue to accord priority attention to the welfare of officers and men of the Nigeria Police.
IG restates commitment to personnel welfare
According to him, training and retraining of policemen will also be given the necessary attention, to enhance their productivity.

Arase gave the assurance at a one day security meeting organised by the Nigeria Police Force Zone 1, Kano, on Thursday.
Represented by the Assistant Inspector-General (AIG), Alhaji Tambari Yabo, Arase said that improvement in the welfare of the policemen was necessary to boost their morale.
‘’Increase in the welfare of staff will boost their morale while training, through capacity building, will enhance their performance.’’
He restated the commitment of the force toward tackling the various security challenges in the country.
‘’The Police have been doing their best in tackling the security challenges and will continue to do more,’’ the inspector-general said.
In his remark, Gov. Abdullahi Ganduje of Kano State, said that the state government had established a Security Trust Fund to support various security agencies in the state.
