First lady receives leadership award

Arewa Youth Assembly, a legislative body of all Northern youth organizations with membership from the 19 Northern states has honoured Adamawa state first lady, Hajiya Maryam Bindow Jibrilla.

Arewa Youth Assembly, a legislative body of all Northern youth organizations with membership from the 19 Northern states has honoured Adamawa state first lady, Hajiya Maryam Bindow Jibrilla. The First Lady was honored with sardauna excellency and leadership award for her efforts towards improving the conditions of orphans and Internally Displaced Persons (IDPS).

Presenting the award  and her investiture as  life patron of the Assembly, the speaker, Hon. Mohammed Danlami Salisu, said that within the short time of her husband's leadership, Maryam has contributed alot to the upliftment of the Youth not only in Adamawa and Northern Nigeria but the country as a whole.

The first lady commended the Assembly for the honour adding that it will spur her to do more in giving hope to the hopeless especially women, youth and orphans.

She said it was a rare privileged for one to be associated with the name of sir Ahmadu Bello the sardauna of sokoto adding that she will continue to identify with the plight of the less privileged.
