Lagos state Governor Akinwunmi Ambode, has appointed retired Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG), Chris Olakpe as the new Chief Executive Officer of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA).

Olakpe's appointment was announced on Monday, November 2, in a statement signed by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Mr. Habib Aruna.

According to the statement, the ex-police is boss' appointment is due to his wealth of experience, and in response to the incessant complaints by the public on the situation of traffic on the streets of Lagos.
