Joss Whedon, Lionsgate hit with $10m copyright lawsuit over movie

Joss Whedon is being sued for $10 million by author, who claims 'The Cabin In The Woods' is based on his book.

According to Hollywood Reporter, Joss Whedon, who produced and co-wrote the much talked about 2012 horror comedy 'The Cabin in the Woods', and film studio Lionsgate, are being sued by author Peter Gallagher for copyright infringement.

This is coming few weeks to the release of his much anticipated 'Avengers: Age of Ultron', which is expected to be one of the highest grossing movies of the year.

According to the author who is seeking $10 million in damages, the 2012 hit horror is identical to his 2006 novel titled 'The Little White Trip: A Night in the Pines.'

The suit points out the film's similarities to the book and also includes a detailed breakdown of 25 scene similarities.
