Looking and feeling fit and healthy is a great way to start your week. Not just your Monday but everyday and it takes a little bit of hard work and dedication. So, here are a few tips to help you along the way.
Sweet tooth: For those of you with a sweet midnight craving, instead for heading for the chocolate cake, try some fruit with a yummy toppings.
Check progress: A great motivation to continue in a certain fitness pattern is to check how it it’s coming along. So after a week step on the scale, preferably in the morning before eating or starting anything.
Drinking: If you know that you’ll be heading out for a night with the girls or guys, make sure to not drink too much. Instead try some water often and make it fun by infusing fruits in your water for some flavour.
Cheat day: Don’t feel guilty about cheat day. Rather than feeling bad about the cake you ate at your friend’s wedding, work it off the following couple of days. Don’t starve yourself though, it won’t help.
Props: Watch out for these key workout components; a watch to log your total time (or a fancy GPS to track your mileage), an iPod with great upbeat music, a cell phone and a RoadID (a bracelet that includes all your vital info). And on a sunny day, try sunglasses, as they help ultimately reduce tension in your shoulders, which is a performance bonus, because relaxing them helps save energy on your runs.
