Looking back at when Wizkid had his 1st child

Still basking from the euphoria of his new position in the game, Wizkid would slam into his first major controversy with his head first. Now Wizkid isn’t a boy scout or a choir boy but this was his first major controversy as a huge celebrity.

On August 22, 2011 popular Nigerian entertainment website NET revealed that the 21-year-old superstar had fathered a child.

“As our investigations reveal, the young man impregnated an undergraduate named Sola several months ago, and the lady has since put to bed. Before delivering a baby girl for Wizkid two months ago, we’re told Sola who resides in Magodo, Lagos was studying in the University of Legon, Accra, Ghana” read the report from NET.

The NET exclusive also went on to say “At least two colleagues confirm to us, that the debutant allegedly fathered a child in June. Multiple sources who are familiar with the ‘baby mama’ and her family also tell us ‘it was widely known to us all when they were dating. And we knew when she got pregnant for him.”

NET interviewed Wizkid before publishing the exclusive and the pop star denied having a child. “No, I don’t. It’s just a rumour, I’m not thinking about that right now.”

After the exclusive came out Wizkid and EME refused to comment on the story because the DNA tests to determine if Wizkid was indeed the father were pending at the time.

This story rocked the music industry as many people wondered why Wizkid had fathered a child at such an early age.

Later in December of that year Wizkid would also deny fathering a child during an interview with The Punch.

It would take two years, October 2013 for Wizkid to publicly reveal he fathered a son with Sola Ogudugu. During this month Wizkid shared a photo of he and his son Boluwatife on his Instagram account.

Last year Sola Ogudugu went on to reveal more about her brief tryst with Wizkid. She said Wizkid was the man she first had sex and she was shocked when she found that she was pregnant.

“To think I just started having sex at the time… I was just frustrated… Like who sent me??? it’s funny now.. wasn’t funny then oo. Imagine seeing your monthly period unknown to you that there’s a baby growing in you! MAHNNNNNN!!!! God is great!!” wrote Sola Ogudugu.

Presently Wizkid is embroiled in a baby mama scandal which oddly has a lot of similarities with his first baby mama drama.
