How actor bounced back after near-death experience

After nearly losing his life in December 2015, Charles Okocha has bounced back and he is once again the talk of the town.

Midlife crisis? Igwe 2pac breaks down in tears

The phrase "snitching on my ass like crazy" was so popular during this period that hundreds of the same clip could be found floating on social media. The ironic thing about Igwe 2pac's viral stardom was that the movie was shot and released years ago. As fortune would have it someone stumbled on the funny clips and posted it online and the rest they say is history.

Charles Okocha was so hot during this period that Pulse TV invited him over for an interview. During his interview Charles Okocha broke down how he got to star in the movie and how he was not initially impressed by the script.

The following month Charles Okocha starred alongside rapper Falz (another viral star) in a Peak Milk advert. At this time the actor's star was rising beyond the Internet and into mainstream Nigeria. However by December 2015 things will take a dark turn for the actor.

On December 28, 2015 Charles Okocha was hit by a stray bullet and was rushed to the ER of an undisclosed hospital at that time. "I've just been informed that my nigga @charles_okocha has just been rushed to the ER. He just got hit by a stray bullet supposedly fired randomly by some mobile policeman. Dumb sh**! Please let us pray 4 him, he needs our prayers now. Thanks" wrote singer Kelly Hansome who broke the news on his Instagram page.

Things will take a darker turn for the viral sensation thanks to the alleged ineptitude of the hospital he was admitted to. According to James Louis Okoye an event planner who rushed the actor to the hospital, Charles Okocha could have lost his life due to a reported botched surgery.

James Louis Okoye said that after Charles Okocha was brought to the hospital, the medical staff were slow in responding to the actor. After the operation which lasted four hours Charles Okocha was wheeled into the male special ward. When his external stitches were removed, his stomach reportedly opened up. He was just sitting down and all of a sudden we heard a noise like a balloon burst. Behold, everything in Okocha’s stomach came out. You know it was a major operation.

“Nurses rushed over, looked at him and ran away. Anybody who looked at his dangling intestines could not behold the sight. It was a gory sight. But Okocha was courageous enough to hold his intestines from dropping on the ground and he turned his face away from his hands so that he would not faint at the sight of his own intestines coming out” said the event planner.

After 25 minutes of agony and pain, the doctor attended to actor, and the surgery was done all over again. According to James Louis Okoye the hospital allegedly used the wrong material in stitching the actor’s stomach during the surgery.

Thankfully Charles Okocha didn't go the way of many others who lost their lives on the beds of ill equipped hospitals. In March 2016 the actor thanked God for the gift of life by sharing his testimony at a church service with his family.

After then not much was heard from Igwe 2Pac until June 6, 2016. In a bizarre clip uploaded to his Instagram page the actor could be seen having some sort of meltdown. Charles Okocha shared a video on his page where he kept on saying he is going to shine some day, before suddenly breaking down in tears.

It's hard to say if Charles Okocha did have a mental breakdown or it was a ploy to get people talking about him again. Well, at the end of the day it was a viral master stroke. The video of him saying "Amo shine when Amo shine" trended on Instagram and Twitter. Igwe 2pac was reborn.

Not allowing the heat to cool off his new big thing, the actor has gone into the studio to wax a song rightly called 'Amoshine'. Welcome back Igwe 2Pac.
