Battle of the Year Nigeria Break-dance competition is set to roll out activities for its seventh season this month.
Sprite has thrown its weight behind this year's edition of Battle of the Year Nigeria Break-dance competition which is set to roll out activities for its seventh season this month.
This much was made known by the brain behind the concept, Jolomi Kendaboh. He revealed that the soft drink giants will pull it weight behind this year's edition due to the strides the competition has made in recent years.
"I am happy to inform that a soft drink brand is backing us fully this year. They have been there through the years but they have decided to play a major role this year in order to add more verve and excitement this year's edition which is the seventh season of the competition." Jolomi said.
This year's edition begins with the Nigeria preliminary for the 2015 international BOTY break-dance championship taking place on Saturday, 22 August at the Indoor Sports Hall, Teslim Balogun Stadium and on Sunday, 23 August at the Indoor Sports Hall of the University of Lagos.
There will be Bboy crew showcases and battles from the best crews in Nigeria with the winning crew representing Nigeria at the 2015 international BOTY World Finals in Braunshwieg, Germany.
As the biggest in its genre, the event is attended annually by over 12000 visitors across the world. Battle of the Year Hall, Teslim Balogun Stadium and on Sunday, 23 August at the Indoor Sports Hall of the University of Lagos.
The dance competition commonly referred to as BOTY, is an annual international break-dancing series that began in Hannover, Germany over 20 years ago. Its uniqueness is the battle between break-dance crews as opposed to individual break-dance battle. Regional qualifying tournaments, also known as preliminaries, are held worldwide culminating the World Finals event, which is usually held in Germany.
Every year, Battle of the Year features the best and most innovative break-dance crews from all over the world creating an environment for; friendship, international exchange of culture and knowledge.
