Voguepay named “Fintech Startup of the year” in Africa

Voguepay was awarded the best Fintech startup at the just concluded 6 edition of Cashless Africa Award, held at Oriental Hotel, Lagos Nigeria.

Voguepay named “Fintech Startup of the year in Africa

The annual award is organised to honour innovations and contributions to advancement of digital financial services sector and financial inclusion in the continent.

VoguePay is an online payment platform established in 2012. The platform envisioned making online payments seemliness, cheaper and more accessible for small businesses, traders and consumers in Africa and across the world. The startup’s initiatives have reduced significantly the cost of online payments in Nigeria, as its platforms offers the lowest price in the Nigeria.

Receiving the award on behalf of the company, Mr. Wole Ogunlade, Head, Digital Media and Strategy of VoguePay, noted that “this award is well deserved by VoguePay as its innovative financial solutions as serve as payment bridge connecting Africa with the rest of the world”. He further noted that VoguePay is currently the biggest merchant payment platform in Nigeria, and also serves customers in 4 continents including North America, Europe, Asia and Africa.

The Cashless Africa Award is usually held as part of the annual Cashless Africa Expo to celebrate innovative financial technology solutions in Africa across 15 categories. Diamond Bank plc, Transfer To and WorldRemit were among companies and corporate organisations awarded during this year’s Cashless Africa expo.
