Police reportedly raid ex-Governor's home in Abuja

It was further reported that a witness said the operatives were still at Goje's home at about 6:05 p.m on Thursday.

According to a report by Premium Times, the security operatives raided the Abuja home of Goje, a serving Senator, on Thursday evening, April 20, 2017.

Security operatives, believed to be from the police headquarters stormed the house about 5:00 p.m. and remained in the premises as at 7:01 p.m.

12 vehicles, including about eight police vans were reportedly stationed outside the building with at least 25 mobile police officers reportedly sighted outside the building, located on Haile Selassie Street, Asoroko.

The report also claimed the operatives that raided Goje's home were from the Monitoring Unit of the Inspector General of Police on a mission to recover funds believed to be hidden in the building.

64-years-old Goje is currently representing Gombe Central constituency at the Senate and is also being prosecuted for alleged corruption to the tune of N25billion while he served as Gombe governor.

Goje is currently the Chairman Senate committee on Appropriation

Contrary to report that the EFCC raided the house, the anti-graft agency spokesperson, Wilson Uwujaren said his agency was not involved in the operation.
