This is also called the penny or club collar, which originated from the dress code of Eton College throughout the 1800s. The rotund points contrast the sharp lines but are still suitable for a formal environment.
This mid to lightweight fabric is often used to make clothing for spring and summer wear. The manner in which the weaving is done creates a puckered or crinkled effect. This lasting effect makes the cloth non-stick and breezy.
3. Selvedge (Denim):
Sturdy fabric weave, usually in unwashed or raw denim, which forms a clean natural edge that does not come undone. Normally finished with a red contrast weft. The difference between selvedge denim and raw denim is that raw denim embodies the wash while selvedge means the outside edge of the fabric. Selvedge denim includes a self-edge higher quality denim that will never wither.
4. Shawl Lapel:
The shawl style is regarded as having more of the lapel's true definition as an 'extension of the collar' than any other lapel. The cut goes consistently from the back of the neck down to the buttons on the front of the torso without stopping. The shawl neck is great for a black tie event.
