This has begun to manifest, with TV giants MTV Base giving T.R’s credit to Skales, in what can be seen as an honest expected error.
T.R first recorded and released his song and video with the Baseline act in January 11, 2015. The record was met with heavy acceptance, with the urban-themed video getting off the mark with plenty of airplay.
Fast forward 9 days later, Skales released his own song with the ‘Je kan mo’ moniker, and proceeded to drop the video in the final week of February.
This has not sat down well in some quarters, with many seeing it as some mark of disrespect. A renowned inside source who spoke to Pulse on condition of anonymity revealed his upset.
“I am upset that Skales went ahead to release the song, knowing well that it will compete with T.R’s version. H should have changed the hook.”
Our source further reveals that it is disrespectful of Skales to release the ‘Je kan mo’ song, after the feature with T.R, who is currently getting ready to release a new video for his single ‘Gamusu’
“I love Skales and I want to support is movement, but it is pure disrespect,” he said. “Names plenty”.
Skales is currently finalising the release of his album, ‘Man of the year’. It is expected to drop this month.
