7 ways history was made at Awards night

Here's how Riz Ahmed, Donald Glover, Lena Waithe among others made history at the 2017 Emmy Awards.

Pulse Movies has put together seven of those moments.

Here we go;

1. Lena Waithe, who won an Emmy for writing in a comedy series, is the first black woman to ever win in the category.

2. Donald Glover, whowon Outstanding Directing for a Comedy Series for “Atlanta,”  is the first black person to win in this category.

He beat directors of "Veep" and "Silicon Valley" to nab the award.

3. With her Outstanding Lead Actress in a comedy series win for "Veep," Julia Louis-Dreyfus now holds the record for most Emmys collected by a single performer for one role.

This is her sixth consecutive win for her role as Selina in the comedy series.

4. Elisabeth Moss won her first  Emmy after seven nominations for her role as  June Osborne/Offred in "The Handmaid's Tale."

This is her first win despite six nominations for her role as Peggy Olsen in "Mad Men."

5. Riz Ahmed, who won the Limited Series Actor for his role in “The Night Of,” is the first actor of Asian descent to win an Emmy for acting.

6. With "The Handmaid's Tale" Outstanding Drama Series win, Hulu became the first streaming site to win the Emmy for drama series.

It beat other streaming platforms Netflix and Amazon to this.

7. Sterling K. Brown’s win for Outstanding Lead Actor In A Drama is the first time the award has been won by a black man in 19 years.
