The U.S based Artist is one of the daughters of the late Dora Akunyili, who was the Director-General of National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control.

Njideka Akunyili Crosby took to her Instagram page on Saturday, November 23 to share the lovely news of Michelle Obama visiting her studio. Her sister, Chidiogo Akunyili-Parr shared the photo on her Instagram page, she wrote, 

"So this just happened! Casual Saturday in the Akunyili Crosby family. When the Michelle Obama pays a visit to your studio! 🌞

Me to my sister, “if it could come up, make sure to tell her about the book."

The Nigerian-born visual artist was in the news last year for selling one of her paintings titled, “Bush Babies” painting for a whopping sum of $3.4 million. The painting called “Bush Babies” (2017) was estimated to be sold for $800,000 by Sotheby’s but it surprisingly sold for 3.4 million dollars.

The ‘Bush Babies’ artwork was sold during an auction at the Christie’s in London, United Kingdom.
