New video posted by actor Ken Erics shows Mr Ibu healthy at home

On Sunday, January 21, 2024, Nollywood actor Ken Erics sought to put his followers and Mr Ibu's well wishers in a good mood. He then posted a video from a visit to the veteran actor, John Okafor, known as Mr Ibu.

His caption read, "Happy Sunday Lovelies. Something to brighten your day @realmribu."

Erics' post sparked a chain of happy reactions from social media users, who were overjoyed to see the actor smiling in the comfort of his own home. Fans and celebrities rejoiced in the comment section, expressing gratitude. Nollywood actress Sola Sobowale commented, "To God be the glory 🙏🙏👏👏👏💙💙💙" and actress Gift Ibiwari said, "Uncle Ibu is back home, Glory to God, Thank you."

Mr Ibu spent months in medical care in 2023 due to diseased blood cells and constant blood clotting in his leg, as revealed by his family. As a result of the clotting, his family said that a leg was amputated in November 2023 in a bid to curb the ailment.

Nigerians were made aware of his condition on the actor's 62nd birthday back in October 2023, which was celebrated in a hospital. Following his birthday, Mr Ibu's family reached out to kind Nigerians to assist financially in any way possible, so that he could be flown abroad for further treatment. By November, his family announced that he had undergone seven successful surgeries in Nigeria, including the amputation.

The last update regarding Mr Ibu's health was provided by his family on December 16, when they announced that he had to undergo another amputation on the same leg because the first one didn't fully curb the ailment. He was said to have been recuperating and adjusting, and now Mr Ibu's fans and colleagues heave a sigh of relief knowing that he is healthy and happy.
