Amazon is slashing prices on more Whole Foods items.

  • This follows price cuts announced when
  • Whole Foods is also offering a special discount, just for Amazon Prime members.

On Wednesday, the grocery chain announced that it had cut prices on more items, with a focus on holiday staples and best-sellers. Amazon Prime members are getting even deeper discounts — something the retailers says is a "sneak preview" of when Prime becomes the official rewards program of Whole Foods Market.

"These are the latest new lower prices in our ongoing integration and innovation with Amazon, and we're just getting started," John Mackey, the Whole Foods Market cofounder and CEO, said in a statement.

Whole Foods previously announced a round of significant price cuts in August, immediately after it was acquired by Amazon. This round of price cuts is also remarkable in the number of brand names that are included, such as Chobani, Tom's of Maine, and Siggi's Yogurt.
