Second division league signs a multi-million naira deal with Bet9ja
The deal signifies a new era for the Nigerian national league and football in the country.
The news of the deal was made public on April 4, 2017, with details of the 3-year multi-million sponsorship deal to be provided during the signing ceremony.
NNL Chief Executive Officer, Honourable Bukola Olopade said after finally agreeing to work on many fronts with Bet9ja that the planned unveiling event in Lagos, will no doubt open a new vista for the League and for the public to be fully aware and appreciate the efforts of NNL.
The unveiling ceremony will hold at the Lagos Corporate office headquarters of Bet9ja, it will also afford both parties the chance to make the details of the mega partnership to the media
“It is a done deal, we are happy about this development. We can now say it is a new League, it will now be known as , Olopade said.
“We are indeed excited, this will catapult us to a higher pedestal, it is a good deal, this was a League with a zero percentage of property to hold on to.”
Olopade further explained that the blitz of sponsorship drive won’t stop.
“We are not resting on our oars, however, in the next couple of weeks we hoping to have Startimes and an oil company come in, we are hoping for more, I can say there is a great future for the Nigeria National League,” he said.
The NNL deal with a Nigerian company is coming some week after the country’s football federation signed a similar deal with an oil company, Aiteo, to further enhance the development of football in the country.
Also in recent times, there has been increasing in the corporate buy-in of many local and foreign companies into various sports league.
The Chairman of the Bet9ja Company, Kunle Soname, is noted as the first Nigerian to own top European club, FC Feirense, in the Portuguese Primeira Liga.
