Nigeria’s President Muhammadu Buhari is not the most active Twitter user having joined in December 2014 but he takes some tweets more important than others.
Buhari follows 19 individuals that include four African presidents namely, Dr John Magufuli of Tanzania, Macky Sall of Senegal, Paul Kagame of Rwanda and Ameena Gurib-Fakim of Mauritius.
From the list of the individuals, who Buhari is following despite having 1.38million followers on the social networking platform, it’s obvious the President of the United States of America, Donald Trump isn’t so important to him on Twitter afterall.
President Buhari has only tweeted 2,776 times (as at March 20, 2018), with only two likes - a tweet by the 6th president of Mauritius, Ameenah Gurib-Fakim and another from the office of the Nigerian president.
Other public figure who the West African President follows on Twitter include the vice president, Yemi Osinbajo, his spokesman, Garba Shehu, Nigeria’s senate president, Bukola Saraki, a state governor, Nasir El-rufai, one of his political leaders, Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Nigeria’s Minister for Solid Minerals Development, Kayode Fayemi.
Interestingly, the Nigerian president also follows an active Twitter user and possible contender for his seat come 2019, Abubakar Atiku, two critics of his administration, Oby Ezekwesili and Kayode Ogundamisi.
