Incoming White House press secretary: Trump's unorthodox tweeting will continue throughout his presidency

President-elect Donald Trump's incoming press secretary said on Monday that Trump's use of social media would be a "really exciting part of the job" once Trump takes office.

Sean Spicer.

During his campaign, Trump was known for his unusual use of social media — Twitter in particular — to spread his message and communicate with supporters.

"His use of social media in particular ... is going to be something that's never been seen before," Sean Spicer, Trump's pick for White House press secretary, told the Rhode Island news channel WPRI. "He has this direct pipeline to the American people, where he can talk back and forth."

Spicer suggested that Trump would continue his unorthodox use of these platforms when he's president.

"I think that allows him to add an element of a conversation that's never occurred," Spicer said. "He can put his thoughts out and hear what they're thinking in a way that no one's ever been able to do before."

He continued: "He does communicate in a much bigger way than there's ever been before, and I think that's gonna be just a really exciting part of the job."

Trump has continued to tweet since his campaign ended.

"The world was gloomy before I won — there was no hope," he tweeted Monday. "Now the market is up nearly 10% and Christmas spending is over a trillion dollars!"
