The campaign tagged 'United We Stand' is a call to action against injustice which also implores the Nigerian public to take extra steps to preserve hard work and to ensure consumer safety.
Beauty entrepreneur set to revolutionize the industry with 'United We Stand Campaign'
Tara Fela-Durotoye other Nigerian entrepreneurs are raising their voices to stand against counterfeiting, intellectual property theft and piracy in Nigeria with a campaign.
In an exclusive interview, she revealed entrepreneurs from the fashion, movie and other industries "will come together as a collective to be able to use one voice to fight something that has affected all of us whether in terms of intellectual property.."
Making a case with a close example she shares; "I have a friend who is a famous author who wrote numeracy books for primary and secondary schools and unfortunately even though she's put in so much effort... unfortunately that woman has not enjoyed the benefit of her seed".
She made a case for Nigerian actors who spend months shooting movies only to get the movies pirated and shares instances where House of Tara, Sleek Cosmetics and Zaron Cosmetics products are 'faked' and consumers buy which needs to stop.
Joined by Nigerian entrepreneurs from the fashion industry, movie industry, pharmaceutical industry and more, the debut stake holders meeting will hold on Friday 24th February 2017 in Lagos Nigeria.
Tara Fela-Durotoye is a lawyer and a pioneer bridal makeup professional in Nigeria. She found the House of Tara International brand and launched the first bridal directory in 1999. Top designer Deola Sagoe, Oke Maduewesi of Zaron Cosmetics and Dr. Ebele Ugochukwu of Sleek Cosmetics form part of the United We Stand Campaign collective.
