Mikel is one of the highest paid African players as at 2017. For wearing the jersey of Tianjin TEDA, Mikel earns a weekly wage of £140,000 ($194,600) which amounts to around £7.56 million ($10.5 million) annually.
His endorsement deals
John Obi Mikel also makes a lot of cash from his endorsement deals with multinational companies such as PEPSI, Samsung and Nigerian Breweries Plc (Amstel Malt).
AfricanFootball.com reported that Mikel made a whooping $4 million from the deal.
“Mikel hit it rich with the Amstel Malta advert as he will pocket about 800 million Naira over a number of years,” the website reports
Mikel Obi has been noted to have a likeness for good building, hence his exotic mansion in the heart of London and many real estate investments in Abuja, Lagos (Lekki) and Jos.
His London mansion was estimated to cost $6 million. The building has a swimming pool, Jacuzzi, Home Cinema, Sports room and a Spa.
