"We will continue to create robust products and services that meet the needs of our customers and keep them close and connected to their loved ones.

"The Airtel brand has always been known for value, commitment to the needs of customers and passion for quality service delivery.

"The award serves as an impetus for us to continue in our stride towards rewarding our customers’ loyalty, as we seek avenues to consistently excite them with our array of innovative telecommunications solutions,'' the statement said.

It said that the Recharge & Hit-a-Million promo was one of the ways Airtel Nigeria showed appreciation to its customers in 2015.

According to the statement, the promo, targeted at both prepaid and post-paid customers, is a point-based promo launched on June 18, 2015 and lasted for 60 days.

"Customers were required to accumulate points by carrying out activities such as airtime recharge, voice call, browsing, SMS, etc., in order to increase their chances of winning.

"The promo produced 60 millionaires, while many other customers won cash prizes ranging from N1million, N100,000 and N5,000 as well as free airtime and SMS,'' it said.

The statement quoted the President of the Abuja Chamber of Commerce and Industry Awards, Mr Tony Ejinkonye, as saying that the modality for selecting the 'Most Innovative Business Idea' was based on the number of new products and services rolled out by the organisation.

Other categories of awards presented by ACCI included: Investor of the Year, Corporate Social Responsibility Organisation of the Year, Outstanding Company (Commerce) of the Year and the Outstanding Company (Industry) of the Year.
