President Muhammadu Buhari leaves Nigeria for Saudi Arabia on February 22, 2016

The aircraft, Falcon 7x and Hawker 4000, were advertised in today’s edition of ThisDay Newspaper

The advert also showed performance data, interior highlights and aircraft highlights of the jets.

Prospective buyers will be expected to inspect the Falcon at the presidential wing of the Nnamdi Azikiwe International, Airport, Abuja, and the Hawker at the Cessna Zurich Citation Service Centre, Zurich, Switzerland.

The sale will bring the number of aircraft in the presidential fleet to nine.

News of the planned sale was first revealed by President Muhammadu Buhari’s spokesman, Garba Shehu.

“There is a govt committee already in place, working to reduce the number of aircraft in the Presidential fleet,” Shehu said on Twitter in September.

The Buhari government has been criticized for spending large sums of money to maintain the fleet despite the current economic crisis.
