SSS officials reportedly leave ex-NSA’s home as SA returns seized arms cash

The SSS agents laid siege to Dasuki’s home on Thursday, July 16, 2015, placed him under house arrest and also seized his passport.

The officials of the State Security Service (SSS) who invaded the home of former National Security Adviser, Sambo Dasuki have been withdrawn by the Federal Government, according to reports.

The former NSA is said to be aggrieved by the incident and is planning to take legal action as he was deprived of performing his religious obligation of attending the Eid Prayers, according to PR Nigeria.

PR Nigeria also reports that legal and diplomatic processes initiated by Dasuki have led to the recovery of the money seized from Nigeria by the South African government in 2014.

The SA government initially apprehended 2 Nigerians and an Israeli, who were carrying $9.3 million in cash aboard a private jet into the country supposedly to purchase arms, in September and seized the money.

Another $5.7 million (N936,338,816.66) was seized by the Asset Forfeiture Unit of the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) in SA in October 2014.
