Agency says Lagos/Ibadan Expressway safe despite repairs

The FRSC has said the Lagos-Ibadan expressway is still safe despite the ongoing repairs on the highway.

Federal Road Safety Corps

Oladele in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Abeokuta on Saturday urged motorists not to entertain any fear of plying the route.

NAN reports that the FRSC had on Thursday issued a statement informing motorists that Julius Berger Nig. Plc will temporarily close the section of the Ibadan/Lagos corridor by Sagamu Interchange for repairs from Nov. 3 to Nov. 12.

The sector commander said the FRSC had been on ground to ensure free flow of traffic since the repair work started, adding that motorists should not be scared of plying the road because of the repairs.

“We are still on ground and traffic has been moving freely.

“However, it was a bit high on Friday night and Saturday morning, especially around Mowe due to the Holy Ghost service organised by the Redeemed Christian Church of God.

“Asides the pockets of break down which we promptly removed, officers of the FRSC have been on their toes to ensure free flow of traffic and safety on the roads,’’ Oladele assured.

He urged motorists to cooperate with the FRSC, exercise caution, and adhere to traffic rules throughout the period of the repairs.
