Weddings, weddings, weddings! Everyone seems to be getting married this year. You feel like you're spending half your budget on The aso-ebi or being on a friend /sister's bridal train. While you are happy for the couple, you can't help but wonder when your own magic day will come. Simple. Plan a shower!

Planning a shower is fun. Not only is it a happy surprise for the bride, but it's a chance to channel all your creative energy into making this a memorable day for the bride. First off, you need to decide on a theme. Do you want a cozy affair or a wild night out? This will help determine the look and feel of your shower.

Next up, put together two lists: a list of likely people you'll be inviting to the shower. This list will help you in making the second, which is a list of things you need to do and buy, including planning the venue, music, food and drink as well as finding bride-to-be sashes, a crown for the bride, masks for the guests and whatever else you want for a festive bridal bash.

Find close cohorts to help out with contacting and tasking members of the guest list for funds for this little gathering. Unless you’re superwoman, you need help with various aspects that you have put down in the list—and chances are, they'll jump at the chance to participate! Make a list of several games. Bridal showers should be interactive as well as entertaining. Rehash old stories, secrets, find out how well the bride knows her beau, give the bride advice that she would take to her 'husband's house', as our parents like to say. This is the perfect outline for a cozy affair. You could also arrange for a day at the spa and dinner for the girls afterwards.

If you would rather have a wild night out, pick a club of choice, figure out your means of transportation and figure out how to get the bride to be to the venue without her knowledge. Drink, dance, indulge in a game of truth or dare to get the adrenaline pumping. Be careful not to do anything you would regret the morning after.

Make sure the whole affair is thoroughly planned with enough plan B's in place. A well-planned bridal party is sure to get your mind off your solo status and make sure your energy is utilized positively. If you get into the spirit of the occasion, weddings are a great chance for to reconnect with old friends and do something special for the bride as she gets ready for her big day. Chances are, she'll be excited to do the same for you when the time comes!
