How to upload your WAEC or NECO result on JAMB portal from home

• JAMB now allows candidates to verify and upload O'level results from home.

If you've ever spent hours at a CBT centre just because you wanted to upload your WAEC or NECO result, JAMB says that stress is finally becoming a thing of the past.

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has introduced a new system that allows candidates to verify and upload their O'level results right from their homes without visiting a Computer-Based Test (CBT) centre.

The update was announced on Monday by JAMB's Acting Director of Public Affairs and Protocol, Fabian Benjamin.

According to him, the Board has integrated its system with examination bodies, starting with the West African Examinations Council (WAEC), so candidates' results can now be verified directly from the source before they are uploaded to their JAMB profiles.

He explained that the move is part of JAMB's efforts to make its services easier and reduce the frustration many candidates face every admission season.

"As a responsive organisation committed to providing efficient and accessible services, the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has facilitated the verification of candidates’ O’Level results directly from the various examination bodies responsible for conducting the Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination (SSCE), beginning with the West African Examinations Council (WAEC).

"Consequently, candidates can now upload their O’Level results from the comfort of their homes, while the Board undertakes the verification of such results directly with the issuing examination bodies."

For years, candidates had to visit accredited CBT centres to upload their WAEC, NECO or NABTEB results after registering for UTME. During peak admission periods, these centres often experienced long queues, network issues and delays.

JAMB believes this new system will not only save candidates time and transport costs but also reduce mistakes associated with manual uploads.

"The initiative is part of the Board’s renewed commitment to making services easier, faster, safer and more convenient for candidates," Benjamin said.

"By using technology to reduce unnecessary visits to CBT centres, queues and manual processes, JAMB is putting candidate ease of service delivery at the centre of its operations."

The Board also said the new process will help prevent cases where candidates submit fake or incorrect results or where subjects and grades are entered wrongly during manual uploads.

"The new arrangement also addresses challenges associated with manual O’Level result uploads, including misplaced or mixed-up paper results, presentation of unverified or fraudulent results, and errors in the manual entry of subjects and grades," Benjamin said.

Candidates can complete the verification process by following these steps:

• Visit buyresultsverificationcode.ng

• Enter your National Identification Number (NIN) and verify it.

• Choose whether you're uploading one or two sittings and select the examination body.

• Enter your email address and phone number.

• Make payment using a debit card or bank transfer.

• Input your examination number, examination year and examination series.

• Verify your result and obtain your Verification Code.

Once you have your Verification Code:

• Send VERIFY followed by your Verification Code to 55019 or 66019.

• You'll receive a notification once your result has been uploaded.

• Candidates using two sittings should log into their JAMB e-Facility profile.

• Click 2026 UTME O'Level Upload.Enter your Verification Code.

• Select the required subjects from the verified results.

• Candidates must choose at least five subjects and not more than nine, without selecting any subject twice.

• Click Apply the O'Level Results.

• A confirmation message will be sent after successful submission.

Benjamin added that the service is expected to be especially useful during periods when CBT centres are overcrowded or experiencing network issues.

He also said the initiative reflects the vision of JAMB Registrar, Prof. Segun Aina, to make the Board's services more technology-driven and candidate-friendly.

"The Board will continue to deploy technology and collaborate with relevant examination and government agencies to make its services simpler, safer and more accessible to candidates," he said.

For thousands of UTME candidates preparing for admission, this means one less queue to stand in and one less trip to a CBT centre.
