With every rumour comes a leaked photo and the latest of this is the gold casing. As every tech gizmo and Apple aficionado knows, the tech company never strays from their traditional colour casings be it for phones or tablets - Apple phones have ALWAYS come in either black or white, nothing else. But amidst fierce competition from South Korean rivals, Samsung, indications are rife that Apple will be making some radical changes with their soon-to-be-released new products and that includes switching up the colours of the iPhone casings by offering a wider array of colour options including - gold and silver.

On their part, Apple has not been specific with the colour options they will offer for their iPhones neither have they confirmed rumours which state that there will be a cheaper range of phones targeted at mid-lower range customers but they did release the new iOS 7 which features amongst other things a departure from the usual Apple interface and icons.

Since the passing of Apple founder, Steve Jobs in 2011, critics and consumers have bemoaned the lack of stellar innovations from the American company for which the tech giants used to be known and through which they captured a vast percentage of the smartphone market. Arch rivals, Samsung have meanwhile seized the opportunity to bridge the gap, releasing several high-end and midrange devices totalling no less than 5 this year alone.

With the increasing saturation of the smartphone market, its become clear that Apple will have to rely on more than goodwill and reputation to tide the storm which means much more sophisticated devices and a wide range of options. In the meantime, leaked photos of several Apple devices due for release this year continue to flood the internet including the latest snapshots of a gold iPhone leading industry watchers to believe that Apple could indeed be considering a revamp of its phone casings but again, the tech giants remain silent on the rumours.

What do you think? Will Apple offer a wide range of colours with their new devices and would you like a gold coloured iPhone?
