Forget the Gangnam Style and Just Do the Harlem Shake!

Just when we thought dance skits couldn't get any funnier or go any more viral, the<strong> Harlem Shake</strong> proves us woefully wrong on both counts. The<strong> Harlem Shake </strong>which currently has about 40,000 different videos on Youtube with a total of about 175 million views kicked off early this February when five teenagers known as<strong> The Sunny Coast Skate</strong> from <strong>Queensland, Australia</strong> uploaded a video of them doing the <strong>Harlem Shake</strong>...

The Harlem Shake dance is accompanied by the song Harlem Shake by Baauer which interestingly has gained massive popularity and recorded sales on account of the video skits. Released as a free digital download on May 22nd, 2012, the song didn't gain as much popularity until the reign of the video skits on Youtube. It now currently ranks number 12 on the US Dance/Electronic songs chart and number 22 on the UK singles chart, even making an entry on our very own Beat 99.9 Fm Beatdown.

So how does this latest dance trend go? Pretty simple really. Not more than 30-something seconds, one person usually wearing a mask, stands in the middle dancing alone for the first 15 seconds of the song while others around act oblivious to the dancer, then 15 seconds later, it becomes a free-for-all as others join in the dance!
