Goalkeeper
Daniel Akpeyi (Kaizer Chiefs/South Africa)
Super Eagles goalkeeper Daniel Akpeyi made his debut for Kaizer Chiefs in their 1-1 home Soweto Derby draw against Orlando Pirates.
Akpeyi was brilliant in between goal for Chiefs and made some good saves in the game. He didn't have much to do with the equaliser and the goalkeeper ended the game with enough pats on his back.
Defenders
Ola Aina (Torino/Italy)
Ola Aina has been very consistent in Torino where he has grown from strength to strength. In one of his rare outings as a wing back from the right- he has made most of his appearances for the club from the left-he scored a vital goal which ended being their winner against Udinese.
Chidozie Awaziem (Rizespor /Turkey)
In central defence, Awaziem continues to impress at his new club Rizespor where he is on loan from Porto. He was solid again for them during their weekend's 1-1 home draw against Antalyaspor.

Midfield
Semi Ajayi (Rotherham United/England)
Despite being played out position, Semi Ajayi, a defender by trade played whole 90 minutes for Rotherham in their goalless draw against Wigan in defensive midfield.
Mikel Obi (Middlesbrough/England)
Although not a spectacular outing, it was apparent that Mikel is gradually getting to his best as he played the whole 90 minutes to help Middlesbrough to a 1-1 home draw with Leeds United.
Alex Iwobi (Arsenal/England)
Iwobi was on target for Arsenal, helping the Gunners back to winning ways with a goal in the 16th minute, the first in their 2-1 win away at Huddersfield.
Forwards
Henry Onyekuru (Galatasaray/Turkey)
Onyekuru could not get on the scoresheet for Galatasaray in their 3-1 win over Transanspor over the weekend but he was impressive and caused a lot of troubles for the opposition defence. The forward caused the penalty from which Galatasaray opened the scoring.
Taiwo Awoniyi (Royal Excel Mouscron/Belgium)
Nigerian forward Awoniyi was at his best to hurt his parent club Gent for Royal Excel Mouscron where he is on loan till the end of the season.
Ndifreke Effiong (Akwa United/Nigeria)
The only local-based star in the squad, Effiong was the star as Akwa United thrashed new-comers Kada City 4-0 in Uyo. Effiong banged a brace and created another in one of the finest performances over the weekend in the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL).
