The 40-year-old New England Patriots quarterback may have dropped off the Forbes richest athletes list, but make no mistake: He's still got a lot of cash - which he presumably spends on fancy organic vegetables that aren't nightshades and whatever magical elixir is preventing him from aging past 25.

Here's what we know about Tom Brady's net worth.

Back in 2000, the Patriots drafted Brady in the sixth round - the 199th pick overall. He got a $38,500 signing bonus in addition to his salary, according to Spotrac.com.

Two years later, the Patriots rewarded the Super Bowl MVP with a contract extension that reportedly included a $3.5 million signing bonus.

That year marked the quarterback's highest single-season earnings. Forbes put Brady's salary and winnings at $36.1 million, and his endorsements for companies like Tag Heuer and Uggs at $8 million. In 2016, Brady ranked #54 on Forbes' list of the 100 richest celebrities and #15 on its list of the 100 richest athletes.

Due in part, to the NFL's salary cap system - which prevents teams from spending past a certain threshold on their players' salaries - Brady has since dropped off both Forbes lists.

Meanwhile, his wife Gisele Bündchen had earned close to $400 million as of June 2014, according to Forbes. In the 12 months prior, the supermodel had made $47 million through contracts with big-name brands like H&M, Chanel, and Louis Vuitton. Talk about a power couple.
