Selecting the right colour to rock on red carpets can be a little tricky because you have to pick the one that works with your skin and style. We saw different colours on the red carpets that looked amazing while some other ones threw us off balance.
As the award celebrates great achievements in TV/ Film, your favourite celebrities also get another opportunity to slay. Some decided to do that in black since it’s hard to go wrong in this colour.
Some celebrities were able to make our heads turn with their style while the others just looked ok. Regardless of how they look, this article will show you celebrities that wore black outfits on the red carpets of AMVCA 2020.
1. Lilly Afe
The actress never shies away trying some risky look and leaving her comfort zone by pulling off different kinds of looks. She pulled off a velvet dress with an illusion panel with a silver embellishment that made the outfit stand out.
The fringes look amazing on the dress but it might be a little too much for some people to pull but she was able to do that effortlessly. There was a slit that cut through the dress from the top to bottom, which gave the outfit a sultry look.
Lilly Afe paired the look with silver sandals and a black purse that matched the dress. She rocked metallic nails that matched the embellishment and slicked back ponytail that complimented her look.
2. Dakore Egbuson-Akande
We expected her not to disappoint and she did live up to our expectations with this amazing look. Styled by Swanky Jerry, Dakore rocked a Valdrin Sahiti custom long, sleeveless gown.
The dress was adorned with some embroidery around the chest and thighs, close to the openings. The ruffles around the chest made the outfit look beautiful.
The dress had a dramatic long train with silver accessories. She left her neck bare to allow us to focus on the dress while she went for a bridal hairstyle and bold lips.
3. Funke Akindele Bello
Funke didn’t just win awards for her craft, she also killed it on the red carpet with her amazing look. She stepped into the venue in a flowery embroidery one-shoulder dress that looked stunning.
Styled by Medlin Boss, the long train attached to the back of the dress made the look more dramatic. She opted for a short bob hairstyle and nude makeup which helped to keep the attention on the dress.
Accessorized with gold rings and purse.
4. Banky W
Mr. W stepped out in an amazing look in a contemporary look. In Ugo Monye, he rocked a two-piece outfit and a black jacket that was accessorized.
He had a tie at the neck that was tied in a bow style. The look was paired with black and shoe.
5. Chy Nwakanma
She rocked a black crop top and a thigh-high slit skirt. Although the top had a lot going on as she had fringes and dramatic sleeves.
She had a nude shoe, smokey and metallic lips as she laid back hair.
6. Ini Dima Okojie
Making a fashion statement is what Ini-Dima does at every event and she did the same at the AMVCA 2020. From her hairstyle to her dramatic train, this outfit had a lot going on.
Wearing a Mazelle Studio custom gown, the see-through outfit had dramatic sleeves, train, and ruffles on the top. She had a high-bun hairstyle with curly edges and nude makeup.
7. Dotun
Wearing TI Nathan’s custom decorated suit, Dotun looked dapper on the red carpet. The suit was embellished with gold embroidery which matched his shoes as well.
8. Iyabo Ojo
She had a ball gown with a statement belt and see-through sleeves designed by Toyin Lawani. She had bold lips and smokey eyes with a wrapped hairstyle.
