Sam Smith has exposed an hateful account that was personally attacking him and his sexuality on Twitter.

The Grammy winner took to his Instagram and Twitter on Tuesday, August 11 to address the mystery person.

The handle “@gaysamsmith” had the description “WE HATE F——- SMITH,” and went on to say, “There is a f—, his name is sam. when he’s on, I like to cry. he is gay but that’s okay, we can all make fun of him.''

The British singer, 23, posted a screenshot of the profile, which had five followers and zero posts, for a specific reason.

Smith went on to write: ''This genuinely doesn't offend me, coz I'm way too [thick] skinned when it comes to this kind of s—t. BUT I just wanted to share this with everyone, so you can see how homophobia is still SO PRESENT in our society!!''

The 'Stay With Me' singer publicly came out as gay in the summer of 2014 during an interview with The FADER. "I’ve never been in a relationship before,” he said at the time.

Adding that, ''I’ve only been in unrequited relationships where people haven’t loved me back. [New album] In the Lonely Hour is about a guy that I fell in love with last year, and he didn’t love me back.''
