Mozambican President Filipe Nyusi has fired the central bank's deputy governor António Pinto de Abreu, the president's office said on Tuesday, without giving a reason.

The sacking of de Abreu, who has been deputy governor of the Bank of Mozambique since Dec. 2010, comes ahead of its annual meeting later this week.
