4 popular roads with major traffic

Find out what roads are more prone to horrible traffic than the others.

Traffic and Lagos state are unfortunately two words that often go together.

However, there is traffic and then, there is horrible traffic, something no Lagosian wants to be caught in.

These roads are famous for having the worst traffic ever, avoid them if you can.

Apongbon Street- This street is in Olowogbowo,an area in the west of Lagos Island in Lagos. For those who go from Levitus to CMS, this is the street you use. Probably because it is located in the central business district, there is always traffic there. Another reason could be because of people going to work or going home. Whatever the reason, always expect horrible traffic here.

Alaba  International Market Road- Thanks to Alaba market, this road is always heavily congested. Also, this road is in a deplorable state. Expect horrible traffic at all times.

Ikotun-Ejigbo Road- Goggle this road and all you see are potholes and road divisions. Thanks to these, which get worse when it rains, there is ALWAYS horrible traffic/ holdup/gridlock. However, Governor Akinwunmi Ambode has vowed to repair this horrible excuse of a road.

“I have come personally to see for myself the state of Ejigbo road and it is very clear that this is totally unacceptable and there is no other remedy but let our officials come to site within the next one week. And the people of this neighbourhood should be GUARANTEED THAT WORK WILL START ON THE IKOTUN-EJIGBO ISOLO AXIS ‎WITHIN THE NEXT SEVEN DAYS."

True to his word, the Lagos State Public Works Corporation (LSPWC) has started fixing this road. Also, the Lagos State Public Works Corporation is working on drainages along Oke-Afa and Ejigbo area to ensure free flow of floodwater in the area.

Third Mainland Bridge- If you live or work on the Island, you definitely have a horrible Third Mainland Bridge traffic tale. Unfortunately, there seems to be no solution at the moment because of the large number of people who work and live on the mainland. Until, there is a solution, we are condemned to leaving our homes as early as 4am or 5am.
