If you love to create amazing stuff, this flagship is for you

The new Nokia 8 is everything you want in a flagship and more. Don't sleep on it.

The design feels very familiar to the Nokia 5 with the premium Aluminium body. The main difference is, everything is better with the Nokia 8. Everything.

It just clearly says one thing; Nokia is not here to carry last with this flagship.

This is for the Creators.

The Nokia 8 is not really just about looks. It looks packed on the inside too. There’s the part where the camera is made in collaboration with Zeiss Optics. You know Zeiss right? The guys who design lenses that are used in Outer Space?

Why take a selfie, when you can be taking both sides?

While we haven’t taken this device for a spin yet, Nokia’s telling us the Nokia is going to give us the world’s first Dual-Sight video to be livestreamed natively and in real-time to social feeds such as Facebook and YouTube. The Dual-Sight simultaneously harnesses both the front and rear cameras in a split screen visual for both photos and videos.

Content creators can natively broadcast their unique #Bothie stories to social media through the Dual-Sight functionality located within the camera app. Other people can also enjoy unlimited photo and video uploads to Google Photos.

Nokia 8 is also the first smartphone to feature Nokia OZO Audio. This one, I’m looking forward to trying, considering this is Hollywood tech. This will surely make the audio experience more immersive. And this kind of makes sense when it just goes well with 4K video.

There’s also something they are calling “Leading-edge 360°” audio capture, which ensures the playback lets you truly relive the moment so your memories never fade. Looking forward to what this is too.

Nokia is saying:

“4.6mm thin at the edge and just 7.3mm slim on average, Nokia 8’s seamless unibody is precision milled from a single block of 6000 series aluminium and its pure design has been refined through a 40-stage process of machining, anodizing and polishing.”

Look, I don’t know if you know what most of this means, but I’ve seen this phone, and it’s really slim, and really gorgeous, with it’s glossy, flawless finish.

It’s got the power.

The phone features the powerful Qualcomm® SnapdragonTM 835 Mobile. This is one of the the best processors on the market now, considering all your favourite flagships of 2017 are using it. So you know for sure, speed won’t be a problem.

Beneath the simplistic outer design is long hours of work with interesting teams working hard to deliver on this product. In this device is a cooling system that keeps the Nokia 8 cooler in even the most tasking scenarios. Nokia 8 is Qualcomm® Quick ChargeTM 3.0 compatible, meaning when your battery is running low you can get back to recording your important moments sooner.

Joseph Umunakwe, General Manager, West, East and Central Africa, HMD Global, had this to say:

“We know that fans are creating and sharing live content more than ever before, with millions of photos and videos shared every minute on social media. People are inspired by the content they consume and are looking for new ways to create their own. It’s these people who have inspired us to craft a flagship smartphone which perfectly balances premium design, an outstanding experience and powerful performance.”

The Best part?

It’s Android. Pure Android with no unnecessary skin and apps slowing it down. Security shouldn’t be a problem since they are saying there’ll be monthly updates. There’s also the fingerprint scanner to keep poke-nosers away.

Nokia 8 will be available in two colours: Polished Blue and Steel and will be available in Nigeria at an estimated retail price of 195,000 Naira.

Not bad if you ask me. Not bad. Be sure we’ll still bring you a more hands-on review when the device touches down.
