According to several reports, Government Girls Secondary School, Dutse, Bwari Area Council, Abuja has emerged the winning school as their invention came tops during an exhibition to commemorate the 2015 African Day for Technology and Intellectual Property in Nigeria.

The event which was hosted by the National Office for Technology Acquisition and Promotion (NOTAP), took place at the agency’s office in Abuja, and saw GGSS Dutse emerged first with their ‘Turning Waste t Wealth’.

Acting director general of NOTAP, Dr. Dan-Azumi Ibrahim, said the event is to remind all the countries on the African continent that the utilization of Science, Technology and Innovation (STI) along with the intellectual property in Africa is critical and important for African emancipation in the emerging century.
Ibrahim expressed optimism that the inventions by young Nigerians exhibited during the event would be rewarded to transform into commercial products and services.
The exhibition was conducted for young Nigerians to showcase their inventions and innovations as part of the activities to mark the 2015 Africa Day for Technology and Intellectual Property and it attracted students from 8 secondary schools within the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja.
