A source in the presidency also revealed that Osinbajo will swear-in the two ministerial nominees that were confirmed by the Senate.

The source said “Look, the President, before leaving, had briefed Osinbajo. He had empowered him to do certain things on his behalf. Both had some discussions on a wide range of issues. So, those things may be part of what they discussed.”

Reports say the acting President will implement the recommendations of the panel set up to investigate Babachir Lawal and Ayo Oke

The suspended Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Lawal, and suspended Director-General, Nigerian Intelligence Agency (NIA), Oke were quizzed by the Osinbajo led panel.

The acting President quietly submitted the panel’s recommendations to President Buhari before he travelled, Vanguard reports.

Osinbajo will remain in acting capacity till the President, who went to London for a series of medical checks, returns.

Reno Omokri, the former new media aide to ex-President Goodluck Jonathan recently called on Buhari to hand-over to Osinbajo, so he can take care of his health.
