Presidential aide to be buried May 2

48-year-old Douglas died at the State House Clinic in Abuja on Thursday, April 9, 2015 after a long battle with cancer.

 

Late adviser to President Goodluck Jonathan on Research, Documentation and Strategy, Oronto Douglas will be buried on May 2, his family has said.

The burial ceremony will begin at 9:00am with a Valedictory Session by the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) at the Chief Judges’ Court in Yenagoa, the state capital.

The funeral service will follow at the Gabriel Okara Cultural Centre, also in Yenagoa at 10.30am.

Douglas’ remains will be laid to rest at 2.30pm on the premises of St Mark’s Anglican Church at Okoroba in the Nembe Local Government Area of Bayelsa State.

An Evening of Tributes will also be held for the deceased by the Creatives Industry on Tuesday, April 28, 2015 at the Eko Hotel & Suites, in Victoria Island, Lagos.
